Infection Prevention
Our goal at 3M is to help you to reduce the number of infections by offering a range of infection prevention products to reduce the risks, supported by infection prevention training and continuing professional development.
Surgical Drapes
Our 3M™ Steri-Drape™ 9000 Surgical Drape range is made from a completely impervious fabric and ensures that the patient is both protected from infectious vectors such as body fluids and remains dry during the procedure.
Incise Drapes
3M provides a full range of incise drapes including 3M™ Ioban™ 2 Antimicrobial Incise Drapes which provide prolonged antimicrobial action throughout the procedure. This reduces the risk of skin recolonisation after skin prepping and thus reduces the risk of surgical site infection.
Surgical Gowns
The 3M range of single use, disposable surgical gowns includes standard and reinforced options designed to give the wearer maximum protection. Lightweight and breathable for maximum comfort, our gowns also keep the wearer dry and cool.
Surgical Clippers
Surgical clipper technology, pioneered by 3M, can significantly reduce the risk of hospital infection. It has helped to cut the cost to hospitals of prolonged patient stay1, and increased the quality of care. The performance of the 3M™ Surgical Clippers makes hair removal quicker than using a razor and is more comfortable for patients.
Sterilisation Equipment and Consumables
The 3M Sterilisation Assurance Programme consists of five separate but interrelated processes, which monitor every aspect of the sterilisation cycle and help to establish, manage and maintain a consistent protocol for sterilisation.
Surgical Masks, Respirators and Protective Eyewear
We supply a range of surgical accessories, providing advanced protection across every healthcare setting. Our range of protective eyewear, masks and respirators are designed to help avoid contamination and infection and are all manufactured to the highest standards.
IV Site Dressings
Our comprehensive range of 3M™ Tegaderm ™ I.V. Dressings provides simplicity of I.V. application, security of intravenous fixation and site protection - all supported by clinical evidence. Added features ensure the cannula remains in place thus reducing the risk of phlebitis and patient discomfort.
