The optics of the Elipar™ curing lights are optimised to deliver a more focused light output.

A more focused light output results in a higher intensity at clinically relevant distances.
Elipar™ LED Curing Lights achieve an intensity that’s up to 5 times higher at a clinically relevant distance of 7 mm compared to other leading devices tested.

 

The best curing technique requires positioning the light guide as close as possible to the dental material in order to maximise light intensity. In some clinical situations—like curing the bottom layer in a deep cavity—close positioning is not possible. In that case, a typical distance between the light guide and material may be about 7 mm.

The images show clearly that the Elipar™ LED Curing Lights deliver a more consistent intensity distribution across the illuminated surface at a 7 mm distance resulting in a more effective lights output (see the extent of red areas with highest intensity).

The Elipar™ light provides reliable clinical results as the special optics cover a large curing area with a uniform intensity distribution at a clinically relevant distance of 7 mm. This is a prerequisite for completely cured restorations.

The 10mm Elipar™ light guides offer up to 80% more illumination surface compared to leading devices tested. That makes it possible to cure larger restoration surfaces in one shot.

Elipar™ S10 LED Curing Light has received the award of Editor’s Choice by THE DENTAL ADVISOR*. The unit was identified as the most significant product evaluated in the issue of July-August 2010. With its unique combination of properties, the light-curing device made of stainless steel convinced all consultants who tested it and received five plusses, the highest rating possible. Overall, Elipar™ S10 received a 97% clinical rating. 83% of consultants assessed the performance of the curing device by 3M ESPE as being better than that of the curing lights currently used in their practice and reported that they would switch. However, the most stunning outcome of this test was that all consultants would recommend Elipar™ S10 to their colleagues – a result that speaks for itself.
